I fought hard to rise above survival mode, only to find that the moment I was no longer “low-income,” the cost of living skyrocketed. No more food stamps, no more assistance—but still the same financial stress, just in a different form. But at least I felt at least I had a life of some kind being able to travel more, go to concerts, you name it! These days when I have the time – Im resting bc lets also add that it doesnt help hitting your 40s either – having health issues.
Being a mother raising kids without child support? That’s another battle. Every bill, every meal, every expense falls on my shoulders alone. And with prices climbing, I had no choice but to hustle harder—figuring out ways to bring in more income, even when my time was already stretched thin.
But that grind came at a cost. “Burnout.”
Managing a household, raising children, and running a business meant I was always “on.” No breaks. No time to breathe, let alone enjoy life. And the hardest part? “Being a full-time mom is already a full-time job.”We pour everything into our kids, but who pours into us?
This is why self-care isn’t a luxury—it’s “a necessity.” As Chain Breaking Moms, we are rewriting the script, breaking generational cycles, and building a life that gives our kids more opportunities than we ever had. But we “can’t” do that if we’re running on empty.
We deserve to rest. We deserve to heal. We deserve a life where we’re not just “surviving—but actually “living.”
So, to every mom feeling this weight: “Take a moment for yourself today.”Even if it’s small. Even if it feels selfish. Because the stronger you are, the better you can lead, love, and create the life you truly deserve.
