Life has a way of shaking us, challenging us in ways we never imagined. For me, the journey has been one of addiction, depression, and toxicity—one that seemed endless, filled with moments of doubt, fear, and darkness. Yet, through it all, I found something powerful: the ability to rise. And in rising, I discovered the beauty of bravery, obedience, and becoming a light for others.
The Power of Rising Up
When you’ve been through the fire, it’s easy to feel defeated. The weight of our past can feel like a boulder, making it hard to believe in new beginnings. But the truth is, the moments that break us are the ones that shape us. Rising up doesn’t mean forgetting the pain or pretending it never happened. It means acknowledging the scars and still choosing to move forward.
Every time we get back up, we are telling ourselves—and the world—that we are more than what happened to us. We are living, breathing testimonies of resilience. And there’s a deep power in that.
Bravery in the Face of Fear
Bravery isn’t the absence of fear. In fact, it’s quite the opposite. It’s standing tall even when fear is screaming at you to sit down. It’s choosing to face the unknown with trembling hands and an open heart.
For me, bravery meant deciding to confront the deep-rooted trauma and patterns that had kept me stuck for years. It meant choosing myself, even when it felt like the world didn’t. And that’s the thing about bravery—it doesn’t have to be loud. It doesn’t need applause. It’s in the small, everyday moments when we choose to fight for our peace, our sanity, and our healing.
Obedience to the Call
There’s something profound about obedience. When you’ve been through trials, it’s tempting to rely on your own understanding, to trust only what you can see. But there comes a point where you realize that some battles aren’t meant to be fought alone.
Obedience, for me, was listening to that still, small voice inside. It was trusting that my journey had a purpose, even when I couldn’t see the full picture. Obedience meant surrendering my plans, my desires, and my timeline, and aligning myself with something greater. It’s the ultimate act of faith—to believe that, despite everything, there’s a higher plan for your life.
Being a Light to Others
When you rise up, you don’t just do it for yourself. The beauty of breaking chains is that your freedom can inspire others. We are all interconnected, and our stories have the power to heal not just ourselves, but those around us.
I’ve learned that being a light to others doesn’t mean having all the answers. It doesn’t require perfection. It means being vulnerable, sharing your story, and showing others that they, too, can rise. It’s in being honest about the hard days and celebrating the victories, no matter how small.
Your light is needed. Whether you realize it or not, someone is watching, hoping, and praying for a glimpse of hope. By rising up, being brave, and walking in obedience, you become that hope. You become the evidence that healing is possible, that transformation is real.
The Journey Continues
Rising up is not a one-time event. It’s a daily decision. Some days will be easier than others. Some days, the weight of it all may feel unbearable. But on those days, remember that you’ve already overcome so much. You’ve already proven that you are capable of rising.
Be brave, continue to walk in obedience, and shine your light. Not just for yourself, but for the countless others who need to see it. The world is waiting for you to rise. And when you do, you’ll realize that everything you went through wasn’t just for you—it was to inspire and uplift those who are still in the trenches.
You are a chain breaker, and your light is needed now more than ever.
