What are you afraid of?

The first thing we must do is recognize what or where our fear comes from. For example, my biggest fear is failure and always worrying about the future. I have to recognize this and know that it is just an emotion. Our emotions are not given to us so that they can rule over us. We are in total control over our emotions and I have listed a few steps to help you take control over the emotion that causes us to worry, fear and have so much anxiety.

  1. RECOGNIZE where your fear comes from and when it does come.
  2. TAKE CONTROL and speak boldly to yourself. 2 Timothy 1:7 was one of the of the first scriptures that I memorized was when my father was passing away and I was so scared. I meditated on, For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.
  3. Focus on the NOW and do not worry about tomorrow. When my kids ask me, What are we doing tomorrow? I simply reply, I don’t know, I haven’t made it that far in my life yet. As the head of my household – I only can plan out but so much in a 24 hr. time frame. I have quickly learned that I can plan out but so much in the future bc we can plans but for good and bad, God plans to prosper us.
  4. TRUST in his plans over your life. Which is to give you HOPE and a FUTURE.
  5. HAVE FAITH is easier said then done. At first we are weak but the more and more you exercise your trust and faith in him – you’ll become stronger.
