- Don’t react right away. There are times when something triggers our emotions it is due to heartache or trauma that is attached to the emotion and in that very moment we must recognize it and not react right away. Otherwise, we will end up saying or doing something that we will regret.
- Breath
- Be slow to speak. Think of a positive solution of the problem and react in a way that is going to cost you important relationships, jobs and your health.
- Find a way to release in a positive way. There are times when our emotions are hindering us so we must take a walk, write in a journal, meditate, or yoga. Any way that you can release that energy that wont hinder you or the make things worse. Things happen for a reason and in every situation we will gain wisdom. Life never gets easier – we just become stronger.
- Replace negative thoughts. Negative thoughts trigger negative emotions and hinder us in a way that will escalate and keep us stuck in a pattern that can be so hard to control if we don’t start exercising these steps. We must be self aware and take control over our thoughts and emotions.
- Forgive others actions. The wonderful thing about forgiving is that you set yourself free from all emotions towards the one who hurt you or stirred up this negative emotion. Then know that it isn’t just you but it is also something that is within them. Allow others to be themselves and don’t take things so personal.
